This Annual Test Participation Waiver governs registration for and participation in The Struggle Standard Test, operated by The Struggle Standard LLC. It is in addition to the Terms & Conditions and Liability Waiver, not a replacement for them.
01The Test
The Struggle Standard Test (the "Test") is a self-administered annual six-event physical performance assessment. The Test is performed at a location of the entrant's choosing, on equipment provided by the entrant, without on-site supervision by The Struggle Standard LLC. Registration includes the right to submit one scored attempt during the published testing window for the calendar year of purchase.
02Specific Risks of Maximal-Effort Testing
In addition to all risks listed in the general Liability Waiver, the Test carries these specific risks:
- Compounding fatigue across six events leading to form breakdown and elevated injury risk.
- Maximal cardiovascular load, with elevated risk of cardiac events for entrants with undiagnosed conditions.
- Rhabdomyolysis from sustained high-intensity effort, particularly in the conditioning events.
- Injury during unsupervised maximal lifts performed without a spotter.
- Falls, dropped loads, or equipment failure in the entrant's own training environment.
03Required Conditions for Participation
I agree that I will not attempt the Test unless ALL of the following are true:
- I have current medical clearance to perform maximal-effort resistance training and conditioning.
- I have at least one competent adult present during all maximal lifting events to spot me and call for help if needed.
- I am training in a safe environment with appropriate equipment — including a power rack with safeties for the squat and press, sufficient platform space, and no overhead hazards.
- I am not attempting the Test while sick, injured, dangerously sleep-deprived, or under the influence of any substance that would impair my judgment or coordination.
- I will scale down, terminate any event, or terminate the entire Test if I experience any warning sign of injury or illness.
04Video Submission, Scoring & Public Display
Submitting a Test score requires uploading video evidence of my attempts. By submitting:
- I grant The Struggle Standard LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to review, store, and verify my submission, and — where I separately opt in — to display my score, name, and likeness on a public leaderboard or in marketing.
- I represent that I own all rights to the video I submit and that no third party has a right that my submission would infringe.
- I understand that scoring decisions are final and that I waive any claim arising from scoring, disqualification, or leaderboard placement.
05No On-Site Supervision
The Test is self-administered. The Struggle Standard LLC does not supervise my attempt, does not approve my equipment or environment, and is not present to coach or spot me during the attempt itself. The Struggle Standard programming prepares me for the Test, but I alone am responsible for running the attempt safely. Any communication with the owner of The Struggle Standard LLC or other entrants around the Test is general and is not individualized, in-person coaching or supervision.

07Registration Fee Non-Refundable
The $15 Test registration fee is non-refundable in accordance with our Refund Policy.
08Governing Law
This Waiver is governed by the laws of the State of Idaho. Click-acceptance at the time of Test registration constitutes my signature.
